I'm getting stronger a little more every day
just waiting as the pain slowly fades away
and I remember living in the numbness
underneath the shadows
trying to dull the pain
wanting to breathe again
It's so hard to move on
now that you're so gone
and it use to be so hard to concentrate.
Used to be stuck in a loneliness that you'll never know.
I was holding on so very tight
trying to keep the dream of us close.
I thought the pain would kill me
God, I hate to be alone
but you never know who may come along.
I use to try and suffocate those feelings of despair  
But now I try to embrace them
knowing that they soon won't be there.
I'm getting stronger with each passing day
which is why I'm writing this poem today
